Advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), are electronic systems that aid a vehicle driver while driving. When designed with a safe human-machine interface, they are intended to increase car safety and more generally road safety. Most road accidents occur due to human error[2]. Advanced driver-assistance systems are systems developed to automate, adapt and enhance vehicle systems for safety and better driving.
The automated system which is provided by ADAS to the vehicle is proven to reduce road fatalities, by minimizing the human error.[3] Safety features are designed to avoid collisions and accidents by offering technologies that alert the driver to potential problems, or to avoid collisions by implementing safeguards and taking over control of the vehicle. Adaptive features may automate lighting, provide adaptive cruise control and collision avoidance, pedestrian crash avoidance mitigation (PCAM), incorporate satnav/traffic warnings, alert driver to other cars or dangers, lane departure warning system, automatic lane centering, show what is in blind spots, or connect to smartphones for navigation instructions.
Because of the implementation of ADAS, every time your windshield is replaced, every electronic sensor in it must be calibrated by authorized and certified equipment as shown in one of the following pictures:
Avondale Auto Glass technicians are Certified recalibration experts for Opti-Aim and Autel Systems.
The Autel MaxiSys Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) provides diverse tools that are easily assembled to complete calibrations for the multi-function vehicle systems: Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, Night Vision System, Blind Spot Detection, Around View Monitoring, and Rear Collision Warning. The Autel ADAS Calibration Tooling Kit has easily interchangeable calibration components. It has exceptional vehicle coverage.
The Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) uses image processing cameras, radar, light detection and ranging and other sensors to monitor vehicle surroundings and detect potentially dangerous situations. Purpose: to increase safety through advanced situational awareness and reduce collision possibilities.Sensors used in ADAS include cameras, radars, lasers and ultrasound. They can detect light, heat, pressure and other variables used to monitor the state of vehicle. Usually they locate in the front and rear bumpers, side mirrors, vehicle cab and wind shield glasses.
ADAS usually includes Traffic Message Channel (TMC), Intelligent Speed Adaptation (ISA), Vehicular Communication Systems and other driver assistant systems. The specific systems are as follows:
